Automatic driving is particularly great for those with neurodiverse brains or people who are anxious because there is less to think about when it comes to car control (no gears or clutch to control) and you aren't going to stall! This makes automatic driving safer in my opinion because it leaves more brain power for watching what's going on outside of the car.
Included in the cost of your lessons I will give you access to online courses and techniques from Diane Hall to help you overcome test nerves and driving anxiety, should you need it.
About Carly
Hi! I'm a 40-something mum of 3. Self diagnosed with ADHD I understand what it's like if you want to simplify the driving process! I passed my manual driving test in 2000 after a year of lessons and after a six year break was too anxious to get behind the wheel again. I did a refresher course and pass plus in order to get on the road.
I became a driving instructor (after doing lots of different things) because I love driving and there are some terrible drivers out there, so just doing my bit to educate people to make the safest choices when on the road.
I qualified as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) in 2023 after training with LDC. I operated as a franchisee of LDC, covering Chester, Deeside and surrounding areas and used this time to develop my skills as an instructor and build up my reputation in the local area.
Now, operating full-time under my own business name, Carly's Driving School, as an independent driving instructor, I can offer friendly and patient tuition to help you reach your driving goals.
I'm passionate about environmental issues and teaching in an EV is the perfect way to pass on my experience in a more eco friendly way.
Area covered and Availability
I am based in Shotton Deeside. I cover Chester City centre, Blacon, Saltney, Broughton, Buckley, Hawarden, Deeside, and Ellesmere Port.
I work Monday-Friday 9:30-6pm
I prefer to offer 2-hour lesson slots since these allow for more effective learning. Each lesson is made up of a combination of different learning opportunities, such as talk-throughs, demonstration, Q&A, fault analysis, discussion and, of course, practical driving experience! Attempting to fit all of these elements into a 1-hour lesson would simply not be effective. However, I appreciate that due to work or school/college commitments there's the need for flexibility, so I'm happy to discuss the option of having 1.5-hour lesson slots where possible.
The Car
You'll be learning to drive in my brand new 24 plate Electric Peugeot E208.
Its a lovely car to drive and much kinder to the environment than a traditional internal combustion engine car.
